CoolApp is designed to never collect or store any sensitive information. CoolApp messages and calls cannot be accessed by us or other third parties because they are always end-to-end encrypted, private, and secure. See our updated Terms & Privacy Policy.

Can I export my data out of CoolApp?
CoolApp messages, pictures, files, and other contents are stored locally on your device. These contents are readable by the open source CoolApp clients. Because everything in CoolApp is end-to-end encrypted, the CoolApp service does not have access to any of this data.

There are several community-developed open source utilities that are capable of parsing locally stored CoolApp content. Android users can also move local CoolApp data between devices (CoolApp Settings  > Chats > Chat backups).

How do I permanently disable my account?
You can permanently disable your phone number from being recognized as a CoolApp user by unregistering your phone number. You will need access to this phone number to verify and complete this action.

What about my contacts in CoolApp?
CoolApp can optionally discover which contacts in your address book are CoolApp users, using a service designed to protect the privacy of your contacts. Information from the contacts on your device may be cryptographically hashed and transmitted to the server in order to determine which of your contacts are registered.

What efforts is CoolApp taking to comply with GDPR?
CoolApp is specifically designed to protect user privacy and uses only the minimum information needed to deliver our service. This is an evolving process, and we will continue to update CoolApp’s Privacy Policy & Terms along with our Support Center content.

How do I contact your Data Protection Officer?
You can contact our Data Protection Officer by sending an email to privacy@coolapp.chat.

What is the minimum age to use CoolApp?
You must be at least 13 years of age to use CoolApp. The minimum age to use our Services without parental approval may be higher in your home country.

Yes, you can use CoolApp for work! There are no settings to change in CoolApp to switch between personal or business usage.

Your entire company can use CoolApp on Android, iOS, or desktop. Each phone must register with a separate number. You can not share phone numbers across multiple phones.

Absolutely. All CoolApp calling and messaging is done over the internet. As long as you are connected to the internet without any restrictions, then everything will work just as it did when you were home with your old SIM card.

Your contacts can still reach you at your CoolApp registered number. Find your CoolApp number by going to CoolApp Settings  and test if your account is active by sending a message to yourself in the Note to Self contact and ensuring you do not see a banner saying your device is no longer registered.

However, in order to reinstall or re-register CoolApp, you need access to SMS or calls to your SIM card. Contact your mobile provider before you head abroad to make sure you can receive SMS or calls to that number if you plan on reinstalling CoolApp or wiping your phone while away from home.
